For more information on what Yard Waste can be set out, how it should be set out, etc., click on the Yard Waste PDF on the right side of this page.

Electronics are banned from landfills in the State of Illinois. As a result  the Village's refuse and recycling collection program no longer can accept electronic items set out for disposal.    To assist residents and the community's local businesses the Village has coordinated with Roy Strom, the Village's waste hauler, to offer E-Waste "the right way"  a convenient, cost "free" electronic disposal solution.  To learn more click on the link above or call Village Public Works Office 708-452-7055.

CHANGES IN WASTE & RECYCLING PROGRAM

RIVER GROVE'S REFUSE, RECYCLING, and YARD WASTE COLLECTION PROGRAM CHANGES FOR 2011-2012

The Village has incorporated a “pay as you throw” component in its refuse and recycling collection program to encourage recycling and make the existing program more cost equitable.  Residents who generate less, recycle more, and are a bit more environmentally conscious will pay a bit less.  Residents who generate more garbage for disposal or chose to recycle less will pay a bit more on a “pay as you throw” basis.

River Grove Waste Tags are used for any waste that is set out for collection in addition to the Village refuse cart that is provided each home served under the Village's waste and recycling program.  To learn more about how the program works click here  a summary of the new service program will come up.
